When carrying out strata window and door replacement, you need a partner with the highest standards of safety and environmental awareness.
At Windowline, we’re constantly reviewing our systems and staying on top of the latest products to help us complete projects more efficiently and safely, while reducing the impact on your residents and the environment
Our processes are designed to minimise disruption, noise, dust and waste. Work can be completed in stages if necessary. We also aim to keep our worksite as clean as possible by removing old building materials and rubbish promptly.
Child safety
We are also experts at helping you comply with child safety laws and building codes to restrict window openings for the safety of your residents. Depending on a number of factors, either permanent or removable restrictions may be an option. While permanent restriction can be a more cost-effective solution, we can take you through the relevant requirements to help you decide on the best solution for you.
Helping you with asbestos assessment and management
While undisturbed asbestos-containing materials in good condition don’t pose any health risk, if the asbestos is damaged or would be disturbed by renovation work, there’s a risk that fibres will be released into the air.
The only way to tell whether building materials contain asbestos is by examining samples using specialised microscopic procedures at an accredited lab.
Any material suspected of containing asbestos will be tested before we start work. If we find that asbestos is present, we will arrange a quote for approval by your owners corporation for its removal by a specialist licensed contractor.
Minimising risks to residents and staff
In making the health and safety of our clients and staff a priority, we take all necessary steps to meet current safety requirements. The use of rigorous safety measures is also in the interest of the owners corporation, as it may also be liable in the event of an injury.
To comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WorkCover requirements, we use fall protection systems for all of our projects.
WorkCover requires risks associated with working at heights to be controlled according to clause 56 of the OHS Regulation through:
- Temporary work platforms – this means stable and securely fenced work platforms (such as scaffolding or other portable work platforms); or
- Guardrails – these should only be used when it is not reasonably practicable to use temporary work platforms; or
- Fall arrest systems – which should only be used if it’s not reasonably practicable to use either temporary work platforms or guardrails.
